Seriously time, slow down!
Is it just me or is time going by too quickly this summer?! How in the heck are we at the end of June already?!
We haven’t done much so far this summer because we have been busy or the days just slip by.
We have a day at Kennywood planned with some friends. We are taking the two older kids so that they can have a fun day to ride the rides and be with some friends. Jada has never been there. Yes, she is nine and has never been to Kennywood. I know to some, that may seem crazy..it is Kennywood and everyone in this area has been to Kennywood!! Jada is a very anxious child so I don’t think that before this year she would have gone on any rides. I would have been upset to pay all that money for a child that would refuse to ride the rides. Chuckie has been there once, he went with a friend last year for the school picnic.
Chuck and I used to go every summer, just the two of us. It was a day for us to enjoy each other and just have fun. We haven’t done that in quite a few years so this is going to be fun! We are going on a Friday mid July to try to go on a day when there are less people. There will be a group of 12 of us going. Also, I found some less expensive tickets on Craigslist so we are getting the tickets for only $20!! Regular price is $33.99! Also, the tickets are through a charity that helps find missing children so the money goes to the charity! Win-win situation! When you are buying four tickets, that is a great savings!!
We are also planning a trip to the zoo for Lincoln’s second birthday at the end of July. He will love it! I didn’t really know what to do for his birthday and Jada suggested we go to the zoo. Our little family of five loves the zoo. We have been known to spend a good 7 hours at the zoo and go around to see the animals twice or even three times! We take our time, we enjoy them. I can’t wait to see Lincoln’s reaction to some of the animals. I know that he will call most of the animals “Coco” that is our one dog. Any animal is named Coco! It could be a lizard and its name is Coco!
Along with Lincoln’s second birthday, we will be celelbrating our tenth wedding anniversary. It is two days after his birthday. We still don’t have plans for that but I need to come up with a good gift. I have tons of ideas but need to narrow it down!
We had hoped to go to Washington DC this summer but I don’t really think that is going to happen unfortunately. My brother lives about a half hour from there and we could stay at his place so that would save us on a hotel stay so our trip would consist of paying for gas! I would love to go since we’ve never been there. When we got lost on our way home from the beach and drove around DC looking for a way to get out, it was exciting. I was so excited to see the things I was seeing. I can’t wait to go and walk and see these things but it might not be this summer. Lucky for us, we could do it anytime of the year since we have a place to sleep. Maybe in early fall when it is still warm but not as busy as summertime?!
What are your plans for the rest of the summer? Are you doing anything exciting?!

Go to DC in the fall, we always do! It’s not as hot. You can go to the National Zoo. EVERYTHING is free and it is HUGE!
