Things that make me smile

Before I get to the list, I want to say that I survived my first day at the gym.  I did 25 minutes on the elliptical machine and 20 minutes on the bike.  I feel good, my legs aren’t sore yet.  I just wonder if I’ll be able to walk tomorrow!

Okay, on to the list:

• scheduling a playdate for my son who has been looking forward to playing with his best buddy for a long time.  Chuck told me not to call it a playdate because it sounds gay.  He said it sounds better if I were to say that Chuckie is going to his buddy’s house to hang out.  Either way, he’s going to his friend’s house today.
• Being so freaking excited about Chuckie’s big game tomorrow and knowing that no matter what the outcome is, he had a great season and had fun his first year playing.
• Going to the gym and knowing that my baby loooooves the playroom.  He doesn’t miss me and doesn’t cry.  He plays quietly by himself and loves to watch what the other kids are doing.
• Thinking about my husband at a random time during the day and realizing how lucky I am to have someone so caring and giving, love me for who I am.
• Getting a very random text message from my husband telling me that he loves me and just wanted to let me know.
• Having the baby want to just lay his head on my shoulder when he is super tired.  I’ll take any snuggles I can get.
• Looking at my daughter and seeing one of the most beautiful and loving little girls I’ve ever known.
• Having such an awesome family and group of friends that a girl could ask for.
• Having online friends and sharing in their ups and downs in life, praying for them and their happiness, crying when they are hurting and cheering them on….and knowing that there is nothing weird about it at all!
• Driving down the road on a sunny fall day with the windows down as leaves are swirling around.
