Tidbits of Randomness
I have several thoughts on my mind and so this post will be totally random.
Let’s see….here we go:
We have three weddings coming up in October that we are attending. The first one is an outdoor wedding on a farm. I don’t think that it is an animal farm but rather a former farm that the family lives on. I’m not sure, I’ve never been there. However, October in PA is so unpredictable so I decided to go with a pantsuit. I got it in the mail today and I am hoping that it will fit. I chose a beige color so that it is versatile for any season. The second wedding is a co worker of my husband’s. I will most likely wear the pantsuit again for that wedding. The third wedding is a friend of ours and I will have to find something else to wear because there will be people there from the first wedding. The reception is at a fancier place so I don’t know what to wear. I am thinking of going with another pantsuit but maybe a fancier one.
I made an appointment to get my hair done this Wednesday. I am not completely sure yet what I want to do. I am thinking of going with sideswept bangs and long layers. I will talk with the stylist and see what she thinks. The lady on the phone mentioned color but I’ve never never had my hair colored. I was also thinking of going with a perm….a professional one this time instead of a home perm that didn’t work. I know that those services are extremely expensive and it makes me nervous to think of just how much that could run me but I do have a coupon for 20% off! Also, the husband told me to go get my hair done because he knows I want it done and he wants me to be happy. He doesn’t have any problems spending money on himself but I do. I think a lot of moms have this problem, we always put ourselves last. He also told me to go get my nails done as well.
Fall is officially here and I am so happy about that. I love fall. I love the colors on the trees, I love Halloween and I love the smells of this season, spices, apples, hot chocolate. I already decorated my house and yard with all the Halloween/fall decorations. I just have to get some mums to put out front. We have plans for Halloween costumes and the kids are excited. The boys are planning on being football players and Jada is stuck between being a cheerleader and a singer. She is unsure as of yesterday. They wanted me to be a cheerleader also but I don’t think so. I might be a scarecrow instead.
I went to look at a house yesterday. It was the first time I’ve ever done that. I am still on the fence about whether or not I liked it. The bedrooms are nice, a bit small but there are five of them!! There are nice hardwood floors which I really love. The yard is really nice and perfect for the kids and dog to run around. The house is on a private lane so there is privacy! The basement is large and has several rooms with lots of possibilities. Only one room down there is finished but the other four rooms would be very easy to finish. The cons…the kitchen is tiny..with no counter space or cupboard space. That is an easy fix as well though, we could easily put in more cupboards and counters. There is only one bathroom. There is a toilet downstairs in the basement and we could section it off and make it a half bathroom easily. I guess after doing this little rundown, I do like the house! I am looking forward to continuing our search though and looking at other houses. We are just hoping to buy before it is impossible for us to buy one. Also, first time buyers will get a $7500 tax credit!
Our PTO was looking for a different idea this year for a fundraiser and so I searched online for ideas. I came up with the idea of a cookbook and told everyone. We went with it and so far, it has been a success. The deadline for recipe submissions just ended and we have so many recipes and soon the presale will begin. It will be interesting to find out just how successful this fundraiser is. I’m, of course, hoping it does insanely well so that I can say it was my idea! Just kidding….sort of.
I do have a feeling that it will do well. A lot of the parents have had very good feedback on the idea.
That is all I have time for right now….gotta get the kids off the bus, go to dance classes, football practice and then come home to watch the Steeler game!

I can’t wait to see pictures of your hair! Enjoy your day of pampering… I feel guilty about spending money on that stuff too, but I don’t do it often and DUDE. We so deserve it!!!!!

Wow, you have a busy month with all those weddings. Seems like October is becoming a more popular wedding month (it’s a pretty month with all the fall colors). It’s hard when some of the same people will be attending more than one, and you have to find something else to wear… argh.
You have gorgeous hair and I can’t wait to see how it turned out! I could never have enough patience to deal with my hair that long, so I have to live vicariously through you! haha.
Sounds like your cookbook idea will be a hit. I think it was a great idea, much better than the usual fundraiser stuff. I would buy one!
Looking at houses is exciting! Stressful, but exciting.
Keep us updated!
