The sand is falling too fast
I don’t know if it is just me but, time is going by so quickly. It seems as though the weeks are flying and there is so much to do but I am running trying to catch up to time.
I have so much to do and buy before Lincoln’s birthday party on the 3rd and although I already bought some decorations and plates, there is just so much more! I don’t know how many people we’ll have coming but if every single person comes that we invited, there will be 35 people I think. That includes us. I still need to plan what food we’ll have, where to do everything. I’m hoping for nice weather so we can be outside.
I’ve begun the school clothes shopping but there is more to buy. Let’s see, school starts in…..five weeks. FIVE WEEKS!!! That’s all and then the schedules are even busier and the activities kick in full gear. Oh my, I think I am going to have a heart attack!
I was supposed to start my new job today. I got ready, took the kids next door to my MIL, drove to the gentleman’s house and no one was there to meet me to show me around. I called the office and she informed me that the poor guy was in the hospital! She said she left me a message and told me. Yeah, always check your voicemail….even if you think it is just telemarketers! So, no work for me until they call to let me know. My next scheduled day is Wednesday so hopefully he’ll be back home and I can put some hours in. How am I supposed to quit my weekend job if I don’t actually work for my weekday job?!
We need to take Chuckie out for some spikes for football season. He starts practice a week from today so we’ll be going out to get those this week. I also need to stock up on the Gatorade and water bottles. The league sent out an email telling everyone to make sure their kids have plenty of water or liquids during practice. I heard that they run them a lot. I hope this goes well, because even if it doesn’t….we aren’t quitting. I made it clear that there will be no quitting of sports for this family….especially when registration alone costs $135!!!
Back to my original point. I feel like this summer has flown by but because the weather wasn’t always great, I feel like we missed out on so much. I really wish it was June and we had the whole summer ahead of us. I know that to some five weeks is a long time but when the days are flowing like a river, it just isn’t enough time for me.
Whoever is holding that big hour glass….can you tip it on its side and stop the sand from falling just for a week or so?
